Backgroud
The customer required an ICAO compliant day/night marking warning light system for transmission towers across the Tibet. The system needed to be low-cost, quick and easy to install and completely self-contained with an integrated power supply.
A low-maintenance lighting system was also needed that wouldn’t require constant repairs or component replacement and that would run reliably for many years with minimal operator intervention. If maintenance was required however, the light fixtures or their components needed to be easily replaced without interrupting or effecting the tower’s operation or the performance of the lights on other towers close by.

Introduction
Medium Intensity Obstruction Light (MIOL), multi-LED type, compliant to ICAO Annex 14 Type A, FAA L-865 and ICAO, CAAC Certifed.
This product is the ideal solution when looking for compact and lightweight obstacle light, realized with high quality products and with patented features.
CDT Medium Intensity Obstruction Light has been designed to be a compact and lightweight product; it can be easily installed on an horizontal surface thanks to its base or vertical surface thanks to its mounting bracket and a balance of patented lenses, electronics and mechanical components make this device the most reliable and high-quality LED Aircraft Warning Light available on the market.
The obstruction light is supported with solar panel, the battery supplied would be able to maintain the maximum luminous flux under the condition of dusty solar cells. The battery maintenance interval would not less than 10 years minimum . Photovoltaic panel output would be derated, over and above age de-rating, by 40%, on account of dust accumulation on the panel surface. The upper edges of the solar panels would be fitted with stainless steel needle strips, effectively preventing birds from sitting in these locations.
